Sheffield United 3-0 Chelsea
Date Played – May 1915 (FA Cup Final)

The FA Cup final of 1915 was played between Sheffield United and Chelsea, being staged at Old Trafford in front of a crowd of 49,557. The Blades were in outstanding form through out the match and ran out 3-0 winners in a wet and gloomy afternoon. Many of the ground spectators wore their uniforms in to the ground which has now given the final the nickname of the ‘khaki final.’

Sheffield United 1-0 Cardiff City
Date Played – 25th April 1925 (FA Cup Final)
The hopes of the entire Wales rested on Cardiff City when they met Sheffield United in the 1925 FA Cup final. One year prior, the bluebirds had narrowly missed the championship as Huddersfield Town pipped them to it. Thousands of fans made the journey from Wales for the final and a crowd of 91,763 people watched this classic encounter. The blades were led out by their Irish inside forward, Billy Gillespie and ran out of the match as 1-0 winners. The match was fairly evenly played and Fred Tunstall grabbed the only goal of the match as they won the 1925 FA Cup final.

Arsenal 1-0 Sheffield United
Date Played – April 1936 (FA Cup Final)
The Blades were looking to win the FA Cup for the first time in eleven years; however Arsenal proved to be too strong to contain. Ted Drake came in to the match in fine form, he had scored seven goals in a match against Aston Villa in December 1935 and it came to no surprise when he was the player who scored the only goal of this match as the Gunners finished off the tie as 1-0 winners.

Sheffield United 2-1 Middlesbrough

This was a thrilling league match in which two teams really went for the kill through out the encounter. Both Yakubu and Woodgate had decent opportunities early on for Boro. As the first half continued the Blades got more in to the match and took the lead with a well taken goal scored by Rob Hulse, which was created by Kazim Richards. Middlesbrough stormed back, five minutes in to the second half as Yakubu smashed the ball past Paddy Kenny to make it 1-1. Both sides had continuous chances to win it, however in injury time, the Blades won their first premiership match in 12 years as Phil Jagielka scored a cracking goal from 30 yards out to finish off the match 2-1 to Sheffield United.
