Alan Kelly


Kelly started his career off playing in goal for Preston North End, making nearly 150 appearances for the club. His outstanding play in goal for the club earned the goal keeper a move to Sheffield United in the summer of 1992 for £150,000 and went on to spend seven years playing for the club and became an instant fans favourite and was a solid presence in the goal for United. In total, Kelly made over 200 appearances for the Blades and in the year 1999, he moved on to sign for Blackburn Rovers and had spells playing for Birmingham City and Stockport County. His outstanding goal keeping earned him 34 caps representing the Republic of Ireland in goal.

Nigel Spackman

Spackman started his career off playing for Bournemouth in the year 1980, after three impressive years playing for the club he moved on to play for Chelsea for a fee of £35,000. He enjoyed four years with the London club before moving to Liverpool for 2 seasons, signing for £400,000. He signed for Glasgow Ranger in 1989 and stayed at the club for three years, helping them win the league title on several occasions. He returned to Chelsea in 1992, spending four years at the club. He moved to Sheffield United in the summer of 1996 and was a key experienced player at the club who went on to make nearly 30 appearances for the Blades. He was installed as their caretaker manager in 1997 while still playing.
